My Story

Growing up, I never had "the talk." And I think we can all agree that the sex ed we got in school was mostly useless. It left me with more questions than answers and a whole lot of shame baked in. Answering those questions turned into my life’s work.

I'm Cady S. Moore (she/her), an AASECT-certified sexuality educator and coach on a mission to help people live their most pleasurable, authentic lives. I believe everyone deserves sex education that's accurate, affirming, and shame-free. I believe in sex ed that meets you exactly where you are.

Sound like something you need? You're in the right place.

My Background

I earned my M.P.H. in Maternal and Child Health with a Sex Education emphasis from the University of Minnesota in 2020. My research focused on sex-positive curriculum, the health impacts of teen pregnancy, and building real self-efficacy in young people through empowering programming. Before grad school, I got my start in reproductive justice at Whole Woman's Health, right in the middle of Whole Woman's Health v. Hellerstedt. Working alongside advocates and clinicians during that case is what lit the fire that launched my career in sexual health. I knew this was exactly where I was supposed to be.

From there, I spent four years working with teens through BBYO, leading programming across the Pacific Northwest and western U.S. for more than 500 young people and their families. In 2020, I completed a graduate field placement with AnteUp! PD in Oakland, developing online coursework through the lens of reproductive justice, disability justice, and intersectionality. And in 2022, I expanded my sexuality coaching practice to include adults, because it is genuinely never too late to start exploring.

Since founding Age of Sexploration, I've brought sex ed to classrooms, community centers, queer spaces, and clinical settings. Some of my favorite work has included hosting sex ed trivia nights for the Sacramento LGBTQ Center and URGE, adapting my Queer Sex Ed workshop for Camp Lavender, and co-developing Sex Work Unveiled, an intensive training for clinicians on providing affirming, stigma-free care to sex workers.

What I Believe

My mission is to lead with love. My goal is to help people shed guilt and shame and live their truth. My purpose is to steward curiosity and self-compassion, and to help people grow into more authentic versions of themselves.

Every space I create is built on empathy, trauma-informed care, and a genuine commitment to inclusion. You are the expert on your own story, and I take that seriously. Gender identity is always respected here. You will be called by your name and your pronouns, always.

Sonya Renee Taylor says it better than I ever could: "When we liberate ourselves from the expectation that we must have all things figured out, we enter a sanctuary of empathy." That's the room I'm always trying to build.

A Little More About Me

When I'm not in educator mode, you can find me in Sacramento with my partners, my ball python Lilith, two cats, and a plant collection that has very much become a jungle (92 and counting 🌿).
