AASECT Certification

I am a Certified Sexuality Educator through the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors and Therapists (AASECT). This rigorous certification process requires advanced training, continuing education, supervised experience, and a demonstrated commitment to professional ethics. AASECT certification ensures that educators provide accurate, comprehensive, and compassionate sexuality education grounded in best practices and ongoing professional development.

Foundress, Age of Sexploration, LLC

I started Age of Sexploration to be a sex-positive community where members are encouraged to channel curiosity, ask questions, and engage in dynamic conversation about sex with other adults. It has since expanded to include work with young adults and community organizations in addition to my one-on-one education and coaching.

Since founding AOS, here are some of the fun and engaging ways I have delivered sex ed content to my communities:

Sex Ed Trivia
I’ve hosted sex education trivia nights for a wide variety of groups, including the Sacramento LGBTQ Center and URGE (Unite for Reproductive & Gender Equity). These events blend humor, community, and evidence-based learning, creating a fun, accessible way for people to explore topics like sexual health, history, and pleasure while connecting with others.

Queer Sex Ed at Camp Lavender
This summer I had the privilege of adapting my Queer Sex Ed workshop for Camp Lavender, a queer summer camp in the Sacramento area. This workshop focused on affirming identity, answering questions too often left out of traditional sex ed, and creating a safe, supportive space where campers could explore sexuality and relationships with confidence and curiosity.

Sex Work Unveiled
In collaboration with colleagues, I co-developed Sex Work Unveiled, an intensive program designed to deepen understanding of sex work as labor and teach clinicians how to provide better care to sex workers. This course explores the intersections of economics, consent, and stigma, while centering the voices and experiences of sex workers. It aims to dismantle myths and foster empathy, justice, and respect.

How I Got Here

For more on the story of how I landed in the sexuality field, please read below. To learn more about the people, beings, and guides who have helped me along the way, you can find my gratitude page here.

Whole Woman’s Health

My time at Whole Woman’s Health (WWH) came in the throes of Whole Woman’s Health v. Hellerstedt, which ignited my passion for reproductive justice and securing abortion access for all. I felt grateful to experience the process, firsthand, of a case that would define and set precedent for the landscape of a abortion access in the United States. Observing this advocacy in action, my determination was strengthened and my resolve steeled. I knew that reproductive justice and sexual health was where I wanted to be. In short, working for WWH was the spark that lit the fire and began my career in sexual health education.

BBYO

BBYO is a nonprofit youth engagement organization which serves over 80,000 teens across more than 50 countries and is the Jewish world’s largest youth movement. During my time with BBYO, I served as both the program director of BBYO's Evergreen Region (all of the Pacific Northwest and Alaska) and a Director of Community Engagement for the western United States. I strengthened and enhanced Evergreen Region by stewarding partnerships and developing meaningful relationships with - and between - over 500 teens, their parents, local community leaders, and volunteers. I utilized my versatility and ability to pivot, adjusting rapidly and consistently to new audiences, often guiding teens and parents alike through their full experience with the organization.

University of Minnesota

I was delighted to return to my alma mater as a graduate student in maternal and child health. While working full-time for BBYO, I completed my M.A. in Public Health in a little over three years. As a student in the Maternal and Child Health program, I did most of my research on sexuality education curriculum in the United States, the role of teen pregnancy on negative health outcomes, and instilling a sense of self-efficacy and self-esteem into young adults through sex-positive messaging and programming. I completed my field experience over the summer of 2020 by working with AnteUp! PD, an Oakland-based nonprofit, to develop and evaluate online coursework through the lens of reproductive justice, disability justice, and intersectionality.
